A Song of Ice and Fire Game of Thrones geography George R.R. Martin maps Game of Thrones Prequel Project Moves From Live-Action to Animation A Limited Edition Map of Ursula K. Le Guin’s Earthsea Following the fall of the Freehold during the Doom of Valyria, the Ghiscari of Slaver's Bay took control of the slave trade. The slave Belwas was bred and trained in the fighting pits of Meereen. From Meereen, he was eventually sold to Qohor. Recent Events A Game of Thrones Vaes Khadokh is a ruined city in Essos, east of the Forest of Qohor, north of the Painted Mountains, and west of the Dothraki sea. It is connected by Valyrian roads to Qohor to the west, Saath to the north, and Vaes Khewo to the east. There are hills to the north and the south.[1] It was originally called Essaria, but it is now known by its Dothraki language name, Vaes Khadokh, meaning Valyria is southwest of Slaver’s Bay, and southeast of Westeros. That’s a careful choice on Jorah’s part, but it goes horribly wrong when they detour through Valyria, in the shadow of the Doom. So, why go through Valyria? A few people have, however, tried to travel to Valyria, none lived to tell the tale. We have the self-proclaimed Emperor Aurion who went to reclaim Valyria with an army, he was never heard from again even though he had a dragon. Then we have Volantis who sent a fleet to reclaim Valyria too, the fleet was lost with all hands. The roads also remind me a lot to Rome. But to me, I think Valyria has some Ancient Greece elements also. If you look at the map, the Valyrian peninsula reminds of the Greek Peninsula. Slaver's Bay also looks like the Black Sea, wich would fit with the actual map. Also, Valyria lacked the Roman brutality, with the gladiator barbarie and stuff. The map of the Valyrian Peninsula along with the cities within the Valyrian Freehold Detailed from Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire. Game of Thrones is a sprawling epic that encompasses dozens of characters across multiple continents. While at any given point there are numerous stories weaving in and out of each other, there is Valyria itself broke apart and caused the ocean to sweep in and place much of the area under the sea. During the times of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon’s characters, the water-covered Valyrian Peninsula is known as the Smoking Sea, which sailors fervently avoid in fear of the location being haunted by demons. House Targaryen remains a powerful family within the Westerosi Empire as the official bankers of New Valyria. Prince Jaehaerys embarks on a journey that puts him through extreme trials for five years before he eventually returns as a completely changed man, to a completely changed political landscape.
