no, unless you're doing long runs, then better shielded cables make a difference. FencingNerd. • 4 yr. ago. Definitely, there's a significant difference between quality connectors (like Amphenol) with good cable and the cheapest stuff. Spend enough to get something decent with quality wires and connectors. That's typically around $50USD.
These cables were meant for low speed devices. 2M and under for audio will make all the difference in the world. With the POWER side being used it can bleed noise from the computer into the dac. It would be nice if you could switch the VBUS signal on the computer side from VBUS to Ground if your device doesn't use it.
3. In a lot of motherboards, the audio subsystem is still connected by USB, but entirely on the motherboard. A USB headset would have a USB audio chipset in the headset itself. The possible advantage is that the headset is not inside the PC, and isn't space constrained by other, more important, motherboard functions.
I am not of the belief that audio cables can't make a difference (just ask the folks at The Cable Co), I have tested dozens of interconnects and a/c cords and there are definite differences. However, for USB, would shielding and construction really have an effect on the bits being sent and receiv
Go to the Start menu, Settings, Network Connections, right click the cable connection (“Local Area Connection 2,” in our case), select Properties, and then, in the window that will appear
It’s pretty easy to see the difference between TRS and TS cables (shown to the right). 30 to 120 feet. 10 AWG. 50 to 200 feet. Note that there is a range given in feet rather than a strict length because the resistance is also affected by your speaker impedance. A 2 OHM speaker can have a maximum length of 3 feet for a 22 AWG, while an 8 OHM speaker can have a maximum length of 12 feet.
Here's a USB cable comparison showing some differences Lush2 audiophile USB cable vs. a generic (came with one of the non-audio USB devices). Lush2 has some jumpers to allow for various shield/ground combinations. It was used in stock configuration, as shipped. Red is Lush2, blue is generic cable:
amirm. This is a review and detailed measurements of the KIMBER KABLE B-BUS USB cable. It is on kind loan from a member. The B-BUS in 1 meter length costs US $60 from the company. Complain all you want about high-end cables. Where they usually distinguish themselves is the fancy look of their cables.
Here’s If HDMI Cables Affect Picture Quality: HDMI cables don’t affect the quality of the screen image. HDMI cables are simple cables that either send a signal or do not. The only exception is if you’re using a broken or dented cable that doesn’t deliver a stable signal.
